Stuart spent twenty three years in the British Army. Joining at 16 he rose through the ranks to finish at the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1. This is the highest that can be reached for a non-commissioned solider. After eight years in the infantry, he decided that he would try something new, so attended the Army Pilots course. This was a lot more fun than marching, and he went on to fly Lynx helicopters for 10 years in various locations around the world. This was followed by postings managing such operations as the Apache Helicopter mission planning station. Although recommended for a commission, Stuart decided that the time had come to move on from the military.
As an experienced and highly motivated individual with years of leadership, team development and project management developed in the Army, Stuart went in search of a new challenge; a course on the water with Hugo Ambrose has turned into Lynx Sports Management.
Stuart has also been able to fit in a bit of sailing - there aren't many boats that he can't handle - and has skippered two Fastnet races.
He lives on the south coast with his wife, Gill and two children, Ashley and Hayley.
